BOUNCE — INK IN MOTION

Your game. Your privacy.

Privacy policy · Updated 9 September 2026

Bounce is an iPhone and Android game provided by Mason Bartholomai, trading as Tempest Studios (ABN 56 569 477 429), in Queensland, Australia. This policy explains the information used by the game and its online services.

You can play offline without creating a sign-in account. When online, the game uses a device player identity to save progress, run leaderboards and confirm rewards. Ads and purchases are optional; you do not need them to play the puzzles.

What we collect and why

  • Progress and preferences: a randomly generated player identity, your chosen public name, medals, best scores, saved launch setups, daily results, owned ink, star balance, tutorial checkpoints and settings. These keep your game working and support cloud saves.
  • Scores and play statistics: puzzle IDs, launch position and angle for score verification, bounce counts, medals, attempts, completed puzzles and time spent playing. These run fair leaderboards, show your records and help us understand how people play.
  • Recovery information: if you connect Game Center or Google Play Games, account identifiers and sign-in proofs are used to link and recover your existing player identity. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
  • Purchase and reward records: product and transaction identifiers, store verification information, purchase status and ad-reward confirmations. These let us provide and restore paid ink, prevent duplicate rewards and handle revoked purchases. Apple or Google processes payment; we do not receive your card number.
  • Service and support information: network information such as IP addresses, request times and error logs may be processed to deliver and protect the service. If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send.

What other players can see

Your chosen public name, submitted score and rank can appear on global puzzle and daily leaderboards. Choose a nickname instead of a real name if you prefer. We also show combined game statistics. Your sign-in proofs, store receipts and private save data are not public leaderboard information.

Gameplay analytics

We use Amplitude to understand things such as which puzzles people play, tutorial progress, retries, clears and play duration. Events use your randomly generated player identity and may include app version, device and operating-system information and event times.

Our Amplitude configuration disables advertising IDs, location collection and IP-address tracking. We do not send your public name, saved launch coordinates, sign-in proofs or purchase receipts to Amplitude, and we do not record your screen. Network providers still need to process an IP address to deliver a request. Ad privacy choices do not turn off these separate gameplay analytics.

Optional rewarded ads

When you choose “Watch an ad”, Google AdMob provides the ad. Google and its advertising partners may process IP addresses (including an approximate location inferred from them), device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. The information available depends on your device settings and consent choices.

Where required, a privacy message asks for your choices before requesting ads. Use “Ad privacy choices” in the Ink Shop to review available choices or withdraw consent. You can also manage advertising and tracking permissions in your device settings. You can skip rewarded ads and continue playing.

We send Google a reward-session identifier so a signed confirmation can credit the correct reward. An ad being displayed alone does not grant a reward.

Who provides these services

We share information with providers as needed for these purposes, to meet legal obligations or to protect players and the service. We do not sell a list of players or their saves. Advertising data may be shared by Google and its partners as described above; local privacy laws may treat some advertising uses as a sale or sharing.

Where data is kept and for how long

Some information stays on your device. Online services may process data in Australia, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Bounce's Amplitude project uses its US region. Overseas privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

We retain player and purchase records while needed to provide saves, records, owned items, restoration and fraud protection. Support messages and service logs are kept as needed to resolve issues, secure the service and meet legal obligations. Retention also depends on provider settings and backup cycles. We do not promise that uninstalling the app deletes online records.

We use encrypted connections and access controls to protect online records. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Access, correction and deletion

You can change your public name in the game. To request access, correction or deletion of your player data, or ask about processing or consent, email hello@tempeststudios.com.au with the subject “Bounce privacy request”. Include your public player name and enough information to help us locate your game. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or card details.

We may need to verify that the records are yours before acting. We will explain any information we need to retain for legal, security or purchase-verification reasons. Deletion can remove progress and affect recovery; we will explain this before completing your request. Requests concerning Apple or Google store-account records may also need to be made to that provider.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of your data, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent. Where consent is the basis for processing, withdrawal does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. Other processing supports providing the game, our interests in maintaining and improving it and preventing fraud, or legal obligations, where applicable.

Children and family devices

Parents and guardians should manage their child's device, store purchases and ad privacy choices. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should not be held, contact us so we can investigate and arrange removal where appropriate. Do not put a child's real name or contact details in their public player name.

Questions or complaints

Contact hello@tempeststudios.com.au about this policy or a privacy concern. We will investigate and respond. If you are unhappy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the relevant privacy authority where you live, where it has jurisdiction.
